“Dear Edouard!
These vines are in fact owed to the marriage in 1957 in Saint-Amour (Jura) of Marie-Josèphe Delacour, daughter of industrialists from Saône-et-Loire, and a certain Edouard Balladur.
In 1986, Pascal and Mireille, followed by their son Guillaume, purchased these vineyard plots, expanded them, nurtured them, and made them a benchmark of Pouilly-Fuissé, a wine highly appreciated by true connoisseurs—especially as a touch of Mâcon-Solutré (not far from here) was not about to be left out of the celebration.
In the first appellation, the Bouthières and Chailloux climats reflect meticulous work, without unnecessary rhetoric, which in our view is worth more than anything else. Simplicity itself has great virtues.”
