Champs de Perdrix

A single parcel at 300 metres, under the gaze of the Rock of Solutré.

This is our high-altitude parcel: at 300 metres, on the heights near the Rock of Solutré, the lieu-dit Champs de Perdrix gives birth to our only Saint-Véran cuvée. A single parcel of 1.15 hectares, 50-year-old vines, and a name that evokes the partridges of the open hillsides.

Altitude as a signature

A hundred metres higher than our parcels in the hamlet of Pouilly, the climate changes: the air moves, nights are cooler, ripening takes its time. On these clay-silt soils facing south-south-east, Chardonnay keeps a radiant fruit — white flowers, peach, nectarine, pear — and a mineral liveliness that ageing in stainless steel, deliberately without oak, preserves intact.

A wine of fruit and freshness

The Saint-Véran Champs de Perdrix is a wine for simple moments and fine tables alike: crisp and persistent, perfect as an aperitif, with shellfish or with a Mâconnais goat cheese. Drink within 3 to 5 years, served at 13 °C.
