Which grape variety do you use for your wines?
All our cuvées come from a single grape variety: Chardonnay, the king of white Burgundy. It is the terroir — lieu-dit, soil, exposure, age of the vines — that makes the difference from one cuvée to the next, from the Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly to the Pouilly-Fuissé Premiers Crus.
At what temperature should a Pouilly-Fuissé be served?
We recommend serving our Premiers Crus and our Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes at around 14 °C, to let their aromatic complexity and minerality express themselves. The fruitier cuvées — Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly, Clos de la Tournache — are enjoyed slightly cooler, at around 13 °C. Avoid serving ice-cold, which masks the aromas.
How long can your wines be kept in the cellar?
It depends on the cuvée: around 3 years for the Mâcons, 3 to 5 years for the Saint-Véran Champs de Perdrix, 5 to 8 years for the Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes, and 7 to 10 years for our Premiers Crus. Store the bottles lying down, away from light, ideally between 11 and 14 °C.
What is a Premier Cru in Pouilly-Fuissé?
It is the appellation’s highest level: in 2020, the INAO officially recognised 22 Premier Cru climats in Pouilly-Fuissé, a first for the Mâconnais. The estate farms four of these lieux-dits in the hamlet of Pouilly: Aux Bouthières, Aux Chailloux, Les Ménétrières and Vers Cras. Each becomes a single-parcel cuvée aged for 24 months.
Do you ship throughout France? At what cost?
Yes, we ship throughout mainland France, with reinforced packaging designed for transporting wine. Orders are prepared and handed to the carrier within 24 to 48 working hours, and shipping is free from 24 bottles (excluding Corsica and overseas territories). Full rates and delivery times are detailed on our Shipping & Returns page.
Can we visit the estate and taste your wines on site?
With pleasure. We welcome you at the cellar, in the hamlet of Pouilly in Solutré-Pouilly, by appointment — morning or afternoon, alone, with family or in a small group. Requests take a few clicks on our Visits & Tastings page, and we confirm the time slot by email.
How do I order your wines online?
Our online shop lists all available cuvées at cellar-door prices. Payment is secure (bank card or PayPal), and every order is confirmed by email with its invoice. If you hesitate between two cuvées, write to us at domainerenaud@gmail.com: we will advise you according to your tastes and the occasion.
Are your wines made with environmentally respectful viticulture?
We farm our vines following practices inspired by organics and biodynamics, without certification, with constant attention to the vitality of the soils. The Premiers Crus and Vieilles Vignes are harvested by hand with meticulous sorting, and bottling takes place at the estate.
Should your wines be decanted before serving?
For young Premiers Crus, about thirty minutes in a carafe helps the wine open up and reveals its aromatic palette. The fruity, vat-aged cuvées — Mâcon, Saint-Véran — do not need it: simply bringing them to the right temperature is enough.
Do you offer gift boxes or gift ideas?
The simplest is to compose your own selection in the shop — for example a Premier Cru and Vieilles Vignes duo, or a tour of our appellations. For personalised advice or a special order, contact us directly: we love putting together made-to-measure selections.
