After the painful year of 2021, the vine took its revenge: 2022 was hot and dry, but winter water reserves and a few well-placed storms in early summer allowed the vineyard to come through the heatwaves without shutting down. The outcome: a crop both generous AND of great quality — a combination rare enough to be worth underlining.
Balance regained
The Mâconnais whites of 2022 strike with their completeness: ripeness of fruit sits alongside a freshness reminiscent of classic vintages. Neither the pure opulence of 2020, nor the strict tension of 2021 — rather a synthesis of the two, with balances that thrilled the region from the very first barrel tastings.
The vintage to discover at the estate
2022 is very concrete news here: it is the vintage of our four Premiers Crus currently on offer — Aux Bouthières, Aux Chailloux, Les Ménétrières and Vers Cras — released after their 24 months of ageing in demi-muids. Four readings of the same great year, ideally compared over a tasting at the cellar, and safe to cellar for 7 to 10 years.
